Microsoft365 for Business

Organizational cybersecurity has suffered from the recent boom in remote work. However, remote work is expected to continue.

Instead of only securing your physical locations, you should also make sure that each remote employee is protected. You must secure not only their endpoint but also the user, their devices and all data they store on them.

The data is the most important part of protection. This means that you must have an elite defense at your application layer. It starts with your cloud.

Microsoft 365 Business Standard includes Windows 10 and 11, as well as access to mobile, web, and desktop office apps (Word Excel, PowerPoint, and a suite cloud services for collaboration (Teams Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and OneDrive). Users of the Business Standard edition are also protected by standard security and compliance features. Business Standard includes some less-known applications such as Microsoft Forms Lists and Bookings that can help improve business processes.

Microsoft 365 Business Premium licenses are the most feature-rich Microsoft licensing for businesses with fewer than 300 employees. Business Premium offers all the same features as Business Standard but with more advanced security features. These include Intune, Azure Information Protection and Microsoft Defender (soon Microsoft Defender for Business).

Which one is best for you?

Security features are what distinguish Microsoft 365 Business Standard from Business Premium. Business Standard offers all the productivity, communication and collaboration features that you need to enable your employees to do their best work. However, it doesn’t offer advanced protection for these applications. This makes it more vulnerable to data breaches and other cyberattacks.

There has been an increase in ransomware attacks on businesses over the last two years. Microsoft Defender for Business and other advanced security features will reduce the risk of your business being attacked. Intune can also be used to help manage employees’ devices from remote locations.
